Last winter season saw new record levels in that more guests than ever before chose to come to Are. The number of guests from countries outside Sweden increased by as much as 20 per cent and thereby set new records. This season the international attraction seems to continue to grow. The favourable snow situation and weakened Swedish currency, in combination with the growing international awareness of Are have given obvious positive effects.

Are is the most complete alpine destination in Northern Europe, combining the best of Scandinavian wilderness, fabulous skiing and a rich nightlife. Are hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2007 and also hosts several annual international events. Are can best be described as a quality label in winter sports.

Are has long-standing traditions as a tourist resort, an alpine heritage, a buzzing nightlife together with a vast selection of activities. Add to this the close encounters with nature, with the wilderness on the doorstep and surrounding massifs and you come up with a unique winter paradise.
