Deere Says Flood Waters Have Had No Impact on Tractor Production

Deere & Company said today that tractor production in Waterloo, Iowa has not been impacted at this time by the significant flooding in that city. The John Deere Waterloo Works is Deere's largest tractor factory.
The Waterloo tractor factory was already on a normal summer shutdown when flooding began and the tractor factory itself is not near the area that has been impacted by the flood waters.
Deere did cancel work for other operations this week in the downtown Waterloo area, where flooding has been a problem. Previous to the flooding, employees at those locations had been scheduled for minimal production of parts and components. The parts and components operations were not impacted by the flooding and have resumed scheduled activities.
Meanwhile, John Deere employees have been active in helping the city of Waterloo and nearby Cedar Falls in battling the flood and John Deere equipment has been brought in from other locations to help in the effort.
