Chicago Tribune Company

Chicago magazine, the largest city monthly in the country, uncovers some of the Windy City's best family-friendly possibilities in the March issue, which hits newsstands this week. The magazine presents a guide to smart things for kids, parents, and moms-to-be.

"The Chicago area is a treasure chest of resources for families, and with this issue we pulled together some of the top possibilities," said Richard Babcock, Chicago magazine editor. "Whether you're a child, a parent, or a parent-to-be, this guide will have information everyone can use."

In this feature, discover which birthday cake tastes best, learn the best places for paddling a boat, uncover the secrets to sleep training your infant, know where to get the hottest maternity wardrobe, and much more.

Elsewhere in the March issue of Chicago:

-- Without a Trace: Investment wiz and adventurer Steve Fossett disappeared last Labor Day after taking off in a plane from a remote Nevada field. Senior editor Bryan Smith retraces the search for Fossett and examines the theories behind his disappearance and his frequent death-defying attempts.

-- Dressing to Thrill: Oprah Winfrey wore a Maria Pinto skirt to a premiere. Michelle Obama says Pinto is her favorite designer. With A-list clients and a new boutique in the West Loop, the Chicago designer is making a comeback.

Chicago editor Richard Babcock and other members of the magazine staff are available for on-air interviews. Contact Michael Dizon at 312-222-3165 to schedule an interview.
