Tastybaby LLC

Tastybaby(TM), a company devoted to a balanced and healthy lifestyle, () today announced the launch of its Tastybaby line of 100 percent organic frozen baby food. The launch represents the company's entry into the market, raising the bar for baby food. Tastybaby is a pioneer in a new food category -- frozen, organic baby food -- which is widely recognized as the healthiest nutritional option available today. Tastybaby blast-freezes organic ingredients at peak ripeness and flavor, providing optimal nutrition in convenient single servings. A socially-responsible company, Tastybaby is committed to using the most planet-friendly packaging alternatives, including recyclable and biodegradable materials.

Tastybaby goes beyond food to offer a lifestyle that promotes green living without sacrificing life's pleasures. "To Tastybaby's customers, 'going green' means enhancing life through balanced living, a commitment to family and the environment -- choices that create a healthy world," said Tastybaby co-founder and CEO Liane Weintraub. "Our baby food, as well as our web site, communicates that caring for the environment can be fun and life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest."

Tastybaby.com launched on Earth Day, 2007 to unprecedented Internet traffic. The lifestyle and blog site is already attracting widespread attention from new parents, issues-minded adults and media heavyweights.

Tastybaby was founded by two savvy and fashion-forward moms with a passion for cooking, kids and healthy living. The granddaughter of the founder of Swanson Frozen Foods, Tastybaby co-founder and president Shannan Swanson initially channeled her culinary education into making delicious, organic baby food for her own family. "My experience at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris trained my palate to recognize each individual natural flavor, enhancing my love for the taste of simplicity," said Shannan. "Tastybaby embraces the idea that foods should be processed or altered to the bare minimum so we've created delicious organic recipes kids love."

As a journalist and TV reporter, Liane Weintraub brings an influential emphasis on environmental and community initiatives to Tastybaby. Both as a member of the media and in her private life, Liane has had a long-standing commitment to environmental and children's causes. She serves on the Leadership Council of the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), one of the world's leading environmental agencies and on the Advisory Board of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. In addition, she is actively involved with water clean-up through the Malibu Legacy Park Project, promotes socially-responsible business practices as a member of NRDC's E2, works on the campaign for literacy with the LA Library Foundation and participates in arts outreach programs for disadvantaged children through Center Dance Arts, a charitable organization she founded in 2000.

Tastybaby frozen organic baby foods are made with all natural ingredients, produced and processed to be certified 100 percent organic and then frozen with the state-of-the-art Blast Freezing technology to provide next best thing to eating food that is freshly picked and immediately prepared. The American Cancer Society acknowledges that "frozen foods can often be more nutritious than fresh foods because they are often picked ripe and quickly frozen, whereas fresh foods may loose some of their nutrients in the time between harvesting and consumption."

Shannan's lifelong exposure to, and knowledge of, the frozen food industry has benefited Tastybaby. "My grandfather pioneered frozen foods with the Swanson Frozen TV Dinner, and I think he'd be very proud to see his legacy furthered in a way that meets the dynamic needs and desires presented by the lifestyle of today," said Shannan.

Tastybaby is launching with 8 baby food flavors for 3 stages of development. Stage 1: Squash 'Em, Hip 2B Pear; Stage 2: Peas On Earth, Sweetie, Bangos, Bollywood Baby; Stage 3: Kickin' Chicken, Mama Mia. Each box contains 3 3.5-oz individual, re-sealable cups and will retail for about $4.50.

Tastybaby packaging is recyclable and biodegradable and is printed with vegetable-based inks. Taking green a step further, Tastybaby frozen organic baby food is manufactured at the only 100% wind-powered paper plant in the U.S.
